Julie C. McGrath, an associate of the Firm, practices in the areas of bankruptcy, business reorganizations, and creditor's rights. Ms McGrath has substantial experience in both business and consumer bankruptcy law.
A native of Texas, Ms. McGrath attended Texas Tech University (B.A. 1992); and Texas Tech School of Law (J.D. 1997). She served as staff editor (1995-96) and Case Note Editor (1996-97) of the Texas Tech Law Review. Ms. McGrath authored Note: Caveat Emptor! "As Is" Purchaser of a Building Containing Asbestos Cannot Recover Under the DTPA without Fraudulent Inducement Despite the Presence of Environmental and Health Hazards: PRUDENTIAL INSURANCE CO. OF AMERICA v. JEFFERSON ASSOCIATES, 896 S.W.2D 156 (TEX. 1995), 27 Tex. Tech L. Rev. 263 (1996).
Before joining the Firm in 2001, Ms. McGrath worked as Law Clerk to Massie Tillman, former United States Bankruptcy Judge, Northern District of Texas, Fort Worth Division and to the Honorable Barbara J. Houser, United States Bankruptcy Judge, Northern District of Texas, Dallas and Fort Worth Divisions. Ms. McGrath is licensed to practice law in Texas, and is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Northern and Eastern Districts of Texas, as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
