Katrina A. Kershner, of counsel to the Firm, practices in the areas of commercial and bankruptcy litigation. She is experienced in all phases of commercial litigation in both state and federal court.
Prior to joining the Firm, Ms. Kershner was an associate in private practice and worked on a variety of matters, including consumer and commercial litigation. Prior to entering private practice, Ms, Kershner served as a Judicial Law Clerk to Presiding Justice C.R. McRae of the Mississippi Supreme Court, where she drafted memoranda in a multitude of appellate cases which addressed congressional redistricting, Uniform Commercial Code, and federal preemption issues.
Ms, Kershner is a graduate of Columbia University in the City of New York (B.A. Political Science, 1998) where she received the Ross Scholarship Prize for academic excellence and leadership, and is a graduate of Southern Methodist University School of Law (J,D, 2002) where she was recognized for briefing the Texas Department of Banking and Finance, which led Texas Finance Code amendments requiring greater contract disclosure. She was also recognized for representing the Plaintiff in a successful appeal to the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Ms. Kershner is licensed to practice law in Texas, and is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Northern and Eastern Districts of Texas.
